The Renault Clio is climbing to the top of the European car market for November, with 19,213 sales, a 14% increase compared to last year. This is the fourth time in 2025 that the French supermini has ranked first for a month, leaving behind the Dacia Sandero, which fell to second place with 18,932 sales (-12%).
The swap of places between the two Renault Group models shows a clear trend: European consumers are increasingly turning to affordable cars, at a time when new prices remain significantly higher than in the past decade. However, the Sandero remains the best-selling car of the year through November.
In the top five for November, the VW T-Roc maintains third place with a slight increase, followed by the Toyota Yaris Cross, while the VW Golf and Tiguan compete closely for fifth place. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y suffers a 38% drop and drops out of the top ten, while the Model 3 increases significantly thanks to a cheaper version for the European market.
The market as a whole grew by 2.2% in November, continuing a positive trend for 2025. Electric models played a key role in this growth: 100% electric vehicles grew by 37% and plug-in hybrids by 34%.
Chinese manufacturers also posted strong growth, doubling their market share to 7.4%, with sales up over 100%. Brands such as MG, BYD and Chery are increasing their influence and challenging European and Japanese manufacturers. Meanwhile, premium brands saw an overall decline, with big losses for companies such as Porsche and Volvo.
