Itziar Gonzalez has shocked the Real Madrid environment, after returning to speak for the first time since her dismissal. The famous nutritionist told the newspaper "Marca" about the whole nightmare she had experienced. Her story is quite long, while it shows what happened from the beginning.
How and why did Itziar arrive at Real Madrid?
"As far as I know, it's the president who asks the Medical Services for me to go there in the 2021-22 season. After bad experiences with the medical services of other teams, I say no, but they insist and I go because they tell me the president wants me to. That season, Carvajal and Rodrigo are the only ones who want to work with me. There are other players who tell me they would like to start working with me, but the doctors tell them "don't even think about it". After the end of the championship I don't hear anything from Real Madrid until November 2023, when they call me again to work with Carvajal and Guller for the entire 23-24 season. The doctors tell them not to do it and tell me that my work is worthless.
In October 2024, Dani Carvajal asks me for help again when he is injured. Then a physiotherapist calls me on behalf of the president to join the whole team. I say that I can't be there full-time and I don't want to, because they don't respect my work. We reach an agreement that I work there half the week and from home the other half. I accept because they tell me that it is a personal request of the president and that he will make the doctors allow me to work and respect me, and that, if I show my work, many people with chronic injuries can have hope. I must say that I admire the figure of Florentino Perez immensely, I have great respect and a lot of love for him, and I go with the sole intention of dedicating myself to the maximum to do my job well and so that Florentino can feel proud of me", the nutritionist initially expressed.
How were you received?
The Medical Services create a hostile environment from the first minute. On the first day they tell me that I am there on a whim of the president, but that they know how to manage him and that he does whatever they want, and that they will manipulate him to convince him that I am crazy and to send me away. They do not introduce me, they do not greet me, they do not talk to me. They never meet with me, despite my constant requests; they do not respond to my emails or messages.
They only talk to me sometimes when we cross paths in the corridors to tell me that I do everything wrong and that the president says not to talk to anyone, not to leave a dark environment that they assign me, not to talk to the players, not to do anything, that people don't want me there, that I disgust the players (who don't even know I'm there). The first week they accuse me of stealing a whole bunch of supplements and I manage to prove that it wasn't me, but I get scared and, from that moment on, I always communicate in writing so that it doesn't happen again.
What was your job like, what did it consist of?
The doctors and a physiotherapist were constantly giving me orders (in the corridor) in the name of the president. Basically, to hide and do nothing, but then the president himself comes and tells me what he wants me to do, which is completely different from the orders that were supposedly given to me “in the name of the president”. So I do exactly what the president asks me to do: he wants me to implement my method there and be responsible for setting up both the residence buffets, the diet on trips and hotels, the team supplements, and he wants me to make personalized diets for all the players who want them, and that this can be applied to other teams as well.
It's a very big job, especially because most of the players want to try it and I prepare a daily diet for each one. It takes me about an hour for each player. Calculate it yourself. But I start it with enthusiasm because he asked me and I know I can help the boys.
What happened?
They put all kinds of obstacles in my way: the buffets are filled with food that I discourage. The waitress makes fun of me and constantly tells the players to ignore me, that I have no idea, the chef doesn't prepare what I ask for and puts in what he thinks is right, such as pre-match desserts, the manager doesn't buy what I recommend, the guy who is supposed to prepare the supplements puts in supplements that are different from what I say. Doctors and physiotherapists tell the players not to follow my instructions, they don't give me information about the players' condition or what they are giving them (medicines, vitamins, etc.), despite insisting on avoiding interactions with supplements, as this could be harmful to them. They constantly laugh at me, they mock me in WhatsApp groups, they tell the players to take things that are different from what I say.
Why and when do things get worse?
There are players who improve significantly and comment on this in the locker room. One stops having the pain he had for months, another stops having the cramps he always had; another says he never gets tired, another that he is more agile and faster. And, above all, some comment that they do not get tired and that they could continue playing after 90 minutes without any problem.

Nuk mund të flisja shumë me ta sepse Shërbimet Mjekësore më vinin gjithçka lloj pengesash, dhe janë vetë lojtarët ata që kërkojnë që unë të udhëtoj për të mundur të flasin me mua për shkak të pamundësisë për ta bërë këtë në Valdebebas. Në përgjithësi, më duken djem shumë të mirë, të respektueshëm me mua dhe me punën time, kureshtarë dhe me dëshirë për të mësuar dhe për të kuptuar arsyen e gjërave. E shohin se çfarë po më bëhet dhe përpiqen të më bëjnë të ndihem më mirë.
Kam arritur t’i dua shumë dhe, të them të drejtën, më vjen shumë keq për ta, sepse ata janë viktima në një burg të artë dhe nuk mund të bëjnë asgjë. Pavarësisht se kishin Shërbimet Mjekësore çdo ditë duke u thënë të mos ndiqnin udhëzimet e mia, shumica përpiqej ta bënte, gjë që më trishtonte jashtëzakonisht, sepse nuk donin t’i zemëronin mjekët dhe donin të ndiqnin udhëzimet e mia, kështu që shumë prej tyre merrnin si atë që thoshin ata, ashtu edhe atë që thosha unë. Unë u thosha se kjo ishte e keqe dhe se nuk kishte problem nëse donin të merrnin atë që u thoshin mjekët; unë më mirë nuk u jepja asgjë, por ata donin të ndiqnin udhëzimet e mia. Një tmerr.
Çfarë ju thonë kundër mënyrës suaj të punës?
Në përgjithësi, ata ndiheshin të përkujdesur dhe kjo u pëlqente. Kalojnë nga të mos pasurit asnjë kujdes ushqimor dhe as suplemente, në të pasurit një plan të personalizuar çdo ditë. Më tregonin, kur mund të më shihnin, se si ndiheshin dhe unë përpiqesha t’i kujdesja. Ndihesha pak si “nënë”, sepse më tregonin që u dhembte barku, ose që kishin fjetur pak, ose që kishin pak temperaturë… Unë përpiqesha gjithmonë t’i ndihmoja dhe ata ma shprehnin mirënjohjen me gjeste ose detaje shumë, shumë të bukura, që është e vetmja gjë pozitive që më mbetet nga kjo përvojë e tmerrshme.
Çfarë ndodh midis ndeshjes kundër Atalantës, 10 dhjetor 2024, dhe asaj kundër Gironës, 23 shkurt 2025?
Ndeshja kundër Atalantës është e para në të cilën fillojnë të përdoren suplementet dhe dieta që rekomandoj, pak a shumë. Mund të jetë për këtë arsye ose mund të jetë rastësi, por ata ndihen shumë mirë fizikisht, dhe disa lojtarë që nuk i ndiqnin këto udhëzime duan të fillojnë t’i ndjekin, ndërsa ata që i ndiqnin duan të vazhdojnë.
Në përgjithësi, ka komente shumë pozitive në dhomat e zhveshjes dhe Shërbimet Mjekësore nuk e durojnë dot këtë. Mjeku dhe kamarierja e bufesë më akuzojnë për një fakt të rremë përpara Drejtorisë; kam alibi dhe provoj se është një akuzë e rreme. Pas kësaj, më bëjnë sërish një tjetër akuzë të rreme, të cilën përsëri provoj se është gënjeshtër. Përballë kësaj situate armiqësore, Drejtoria më dërgon në shtëpi dhe nuk më lejojnë të udhëtoj për ndeshjen kundër Espanjolit.
Dhe nga ajo ndeshje e tutje…
Në atë ndeshje nuk u jepen suplementet lojtarëve. Kthehem në Valdebebas dhe vazhdoj punën time si mundem, duke e ditur gjithçka që po bëjnë. Kam frikë, ankth, nuk mund të fle, qaj gjithë kohën, kërkoj ndihmë nga Drejtoria dhe më thonë të duroj, se duan që të vazhdoj të bëj punën time. Në ndeshjen kundër Gironës shoh presidentin dhe ai vjen shumë i zemëruar për disa gënjeshtra që i kanë treguar për mua. Për mua gjithçka mbaron aty. Gjithçka që kam vuajtur për t’i ndihmuar djemtë dhe që ai të ishte krenar për mua, dhe ai u beson gënjeshtrave që i thonë. Kërkoj sërish të largohem dhe nuk më lënë, dhe më thonë se do t’i tregojnë presidentit të vërtetën. Kjo është e vetmja gjë që dua.
Dhe pas kësaj?
Më ndalojnë të kem kontakt me lojtarët, nuk më lejojnë të shkoj në ndeshje. Nuk vendosen suplementet e mia në ndeshjen kundër Betisit. Në atë periudhë më lejojnë të punoj në ndeshjet kundër Atletiko Madridit dhe Real Sociedadit, por fshehurazi. Më thërrasin në një takim me një sponsor dhe ai më thotë se është mik i mjekëve, se ata tashmë kanë arritur që presidenti të më largojë, por se do të përpiqen të më poshtërojnë për kohën që më ka mbetur.
Nga Drejtoria më ndalohet hyrja në Valdebebas, sipas tyre, për sigurinë time fizike; më thonë se do të nisin një hetim të brendshëm dhe që të mos shqetësohem, të jem e qetë, se do t’i largojnë të gjithë sepse ajo që kanë bërë është e patolerueshme. Kërkoj sërish të largohem dhe më thonë jo. Dhe më thonë që të vazhdoj punën time nga shtëpia. U them se nuk mund të shpik udhëzime pa ditur asgjë për gjendjen e lojtarëve, se kjo është praktikë e keqe profesionale, dhe më thonë se e kam detyrim ta bëj.
Punoj me shumë frikë, pa pushim dhe shumë e frustruar, sepse ndiej se ajo që bëj nuk vlen për asgjë, por vazhdoj ta bëj çdo ditë pa pushim deri më 4 gusht. Këto udhëzime që dërgoj çdo ditë, për më tepër, e di se nuk zbatohen nga Shërbimet Mjekësore dhe se lojtarëve u japin gjëra të tjera të ndryshme nga ato që propozoj unë.
Kur dhe kush ju thotë se do t’ju pushojnë nga puna?

What has happened since then?
I am filing a lawsuit despite being "advised" not to and told that I have no chance of winning and, moreover, they will ruin my life. I tell them that it is not about winning or losing, I just want the president, the players and the people who love me to know the truth.
Why are you speaking now and not before?
Because everyone, people from the inside, people who had no idea, family, friends, acquaintances, journalists, told me that Real Madrid has a lot of power and that they would release distorted information against me, and that they would damage my name and reputation. But I still have nightmares every night. I want to close this chapter forever and I feel that until I tell it, I won't be able to close it.
