Popular rapper Jay Z is facing a long-running legal battle over the paternity of Rymir Satterthwaite, a 31-year-old man who has sought for more than 10 years to prove that Jay Z is his biological father. The case took a new turn on Nov. 25, when a new lawsuit was filed in which Satterthwaite, his late mother Wanda, and his caregiver Dr. Lillie Coley have appeared as new plaintiffs.
The new lawsuit accuses Jay Z and his legal team of fraudulent practices during previous attempts to force Satterthwaite to take a paternity test.
According to legal documents, the plaintiffs allege that Jay Z's legal team violated their rights, including keeping records closed and obstructing court proceedings. They also charge that the court system has intervened to block access to important information and thwart their appeals.
Wanda, who died in 2019, had claimed to have had an intimate relationship with Jay Z in 1992, when she was 16 and he was 22. In 2010, Wanda had asked a court to compel Jay Z and her former partner to take a paternity test to determine the father of her son, who was born in 1993. However, the case was closed after Satterthwaite reached the age major and Pennsylvania state law required paternity to be established before the child turned 18.
This is just one of the legal cases that Jay Z is currently facing. He is also involved in another legal battle, where he is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, along with Sean "Diddy" Combs. Jay Z has denied the allegations, calling them "disgusting" and an "attempt at blackmail".
