The director and screenwriter Bujar Kapexhiu, in a recent interview, spoke about women and girls, saying that they do not have the capacity to write humor, as according to him this is a privilege of the wise, which in his mind is attached to them only men.
Invited to 'Top Albania Radio', Kapexhiu said that there is no woman who writes humor and that all jokes or scenes that make the audience laugh are produced by men.
"Here I have it absolute, it can only be some exceptional exception in the world. There are no women who write humor, because humor is the privilege of the wise. (Ooo that was heavy, laughter among the moderators). Do you know that there are many barcaletas for women, they are made by men, you know that there are many barcaletas for men, they are made by men, that women do not have the capacity to do this", said Kapexhiu, without withdrawing at any moment from this scandalous statement of his.
Not to mention many honorable ladies, who have been part of the humor and scene in Albania, it is enough to remind Mr. Kapexhiu that one of the most popular comedy films by Albanians, 'Palace 176', was written by a woman , Adelina Balashi.
Many other women are today part of comedy shows, but also of the Theater stage, from which it seems that Kapexhiu has taken a break in recent years.
