Trump threatens Grammy presenter with lawsuit for 'daring' to make fun

United States President Donald Trump has reacted sharply to Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah, publicly threatening him with legal action, after a joke made on stage that included the name Jeffrey Epstein.

During the 2026 Grammy ceremony, Noah joked that this could be his last year as a host, before adding:

"Song of the Year — that's a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein's island is gone, he needs a new one to spend time with Bill Clinton."

The joke caused immediate reactions, but the harshest was that of Donald Trump himself, who described Noah as a "total loser", warning that he would hire lawyers to sue him.

"I'm probably going to send my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, stupid moderator, and I'm going to sue him for a lot of money," Trump declared.

The American president also reacted with a long post, where he categorically denied any connection to Jeffrey Epstein's island, calling Noah's statement false and defamatory.

"Noah said, incorrectly to me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein's Island. Wrong! I can't speak for Bill, but I have never been on Epstein's Island, or anywhere near it. Until this false and defamatory statement tonight, I have never been accused of anything like that, not even by the Fake News," Trump wrote.

He closed the reaction with another direct threat to the Grammys host:

"Noah, you complete loser, better get your facts straight – and get them straight fast. Get ready Noah, I'm going to have some fun with you!"

Trump's statement has sparked intense debate on social media, turning Trevor Noah's joke into another major political and media scandal, just hours after the Grammys ceremony.
