In a fabulous atmosphere full of splendor and elegance, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have crowned their love. The magnificent ceremony took place on the historic island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, in front of dozens of VIP guests and a large media presence that occupied the city for three days.
After a civil marriage held earlier in the United States, the famous couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony where Matteo Bocelli, son of the famous tenor Andrea Bocelli, performed.
The event culminated with a luxurious gala reception, where two world music icons, Lady Gaga and Elton John, will perform.
Lauren Sanchez rocked a 1960s Hollywood-inspired look with an elegant scarf and black glasses. Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo, smiling as he greeted the crowd before heading to the venue. The couple left the five-star hotel around 9 p.m., followed by a fleet of paparazzi boats and guests disembarking from luxury yachts.
According to the Italian Ministry of Tourism, the wedding generated around 28.4 million euros in direct spending, while expected indirect profits, mainly from transport and accommodation services, are estimated at 17.6 million euros. More ambitious is the forecast of 895 million euros in future tourism revenues, as a result of the event's media coverage.
However, authorities warn that this figure remains to be confirmed through empirical data.
Over 250 guests, representing the global showbiz and power elite, attended the ceremony. Among the famous guests at the ceremony were names like Kim Kardashian, Oprah and Orlando Bloom, who arrived in the city by private jet and superyacht. The couple got engaged two years ago on Bezos' luxury yacht, worth $500 million.
