After news broke online about the passing of legendary actor Chuck Norris, his family has come out publicly to clarify the false information circulating, including videos and posts created with artificial intelligence.
In a post made by the actor's relatives on his official Instagram profile, the family stressed that any claims about the cause of his death, his health condition before his death, or his family relationships are completely false. They urged people not to spread this information, relying only on official sources.
"We are aware that since the death of Chuck Norris, numerous videos and posts have been circulating online that were created using artificial intelligence and contain false and misleading information regarding the circumstances of his death, his medical history, and who was present... We ask that you not believe or share any information unless it comes directly from the Norris family or an official spokesperson," their statement reads.
A typical example of this fake news was an AI-generated photo showing Norris' fake funeral, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan and other actors around his American flag-draped coffin.
Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, his family confirmed the news on March 20 on Instagram, a day after his emergency admission to a hospital in Hawaii.
