Richard Gere is ready to say goodbye to the USA.
The 75-year-old Pretty Woman star has sold her New Canaan, Connecticut home for $10.75 million after announcing her desire to move to Spain. In April, the actor revealed to Vanity Fair Spain that after spending the first six years of his marriage in the United States, he was ready to start a new chapter in his life by moving to his wife Alejandra's hometown Silva.
"She was very generous in giving me six years of life in my world, so I think it's only fair that I give her at least another six years of life in my world," he said.
The house in Connecticut, Richard Gere originally bought in 2022 for 10.8 million dollars, where he lived with his wife Alejandra Silva and their two sons, Alexander and James. The star bought the six-bedroom mansion from Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, who owned it for 17 years. The house, built in 1938, has 11 bathrooms, a three-bedroom guest cottage, a swimming pool and several gardens throughout the 32-acre property.
Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva got married in 2018 in Washington with a very intimate and private ceremony, after three years of dating. The actor has been married twice in the past, first to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995 and then to actress Carey Lowell from 2002 to 2013, from which their son Homer was born in 2000. Alejandra has been previously married, to Govind Friedland with whom she has a son.
