In the confession room, facing the audience, she revealed that she started this path at a very young age, driven by a strong sense of empathy and the desire to be close to those who need help the most. According to her, humanism has never been an easy choice, but an inner calling that has accompanied her throughout her life.
During her testimony, Shkurta spoke about the many sacrifices she has made over the years: sleepless nights, physical and emotional exhaustion, and constant confrontation with painful human realities. She emphasized that she has often put the needs of others before her own, not stopping even in the most difficult moments.
However, the story took an even more serious turn when Shkurta revealed that she had also gone through extremely traumatic experiences during her humanitarian activities. She said that she had faced dangerous situations, including attempted sexual abuse, episodes that have left deep emotional scars on her.
According to her, these moments have not broken her, but have made her even more aware of the dangers that often lurk behind humanitarian missions, especially for girls and women who work in the field.
