A personal letter from Princess Diana, written in the first months after her marriage to the then Prince Charles, will soon be up for auction, shedding light on her early life within the British royal family.

According to auction house Gorringe's, the letter is part of a collection of rare items belonging to the Princess of Wales and comes from Katherine Hanbury, a childhood friend of hers from West Heath School, where Diana studied in the 1970s.

The letter, dated September 27, 1981, known as the "Honeymoon Letter," was written during the couple's stay at Balmoral, Scotland, and describes her experiences in the early days of married life.

In her content, Diana speaks in a candid tone about her honeymoon, describing it as a peaceful and pleasant period, with "endless sunshine and calm seas," while adding that she was enjoying her stay in Scotland.

"It's wonderful to be married. I think I can say it with confidence in two months...! " she wrote in the letter, according to The Telegraph.

In another piece, the then 20-year-old Princess also gives a candid reflection on her adjustment to life in the royal palace, describing the experience as "like playing with adults," a comment that was later interpreted as indicative of her early difficulties at the royal court.

In the letter, Diana also expresses her love for outdoor life and less enthusiasm for London, adding that she enjoyed spending time outdoors during her stay in Scotland.

The collection to be auctioned also includes photographs from her school years, as well as other personal documents, with an estimated value of $5,400 to $8,000.

According to the auction house, these materials offer a more intimate view of Princess Diana before her life became the constant subject of public attention and international media.

Diana married Prince Charles in July 1981 in a ceremony watched by millions of viewers around the world. The couple had two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before their separation in 1992 and divorce in 1996. She died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, aged 36.
