Renowned singer Sia and her ex-husband Daniel Bernard have reached an official agreement regarding custody and financial support for their son.
According to documents filed in Los Angeles court, the artist will pay about $42,500 per month in support of their child, Somersault Wonder Bernad.
Payments began on April 1 and will continue until the boy turns 18. If he attends high school full-time, financial support can last until his graduation or until the age of 19, according to the established conditions.
The agreement also includes special cases when payments may be terminated earlier, such as in situations of legal changes or other conditions determined by the court.
In addition to the monthly amount, Sia will also cover a number of other important expenses for her son, including: private school education, agreed-upon extracurricular activities, and health expenses not covered by insurance.
She will also maintain health insurance for the boy.
Another important point of the agreement is securing the child's financial future. The singer is obliged to maintain a $5 million life insurance policy, naming the son as the beneficiary, or to create a special fund that guarantees support in case of unexpected situations.
Regarding custody, the former couple will share joint legal custody, while physical custody will be organized according to a detailed plan, including weekdays, weekends, and vacation sharing.
