American rapper Offset was shot and wounded on Monday night in Florida, near a casino in the city of Hollywood.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Authorities reported that the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. and that police intervention quickly stabilized the situation.
Representatives for the artist confirmed that he is in stable condition and is being treated in hospital. Doctors assess that the injuries are not life-threatening.
Police arrested two people in connection with the incident and are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances.
Witnesses at the scene said Offset had contacted fans minutes before the shooting and taken photos with them.
The event brings attention back to the 2022 episode, when Takeoff, a former member of Migos, lost his life after a shooting in the US.
Offset is known as part of the hip-hop scene and as a former member of the group Migos, as well as for his previous relationship with rapper Cardi B.
