A pastry shop in Denmark has found an original and humorous way to respond to former US President Donald Trump's statements on Greenland, by turning it... into a dessert.
Kjer's Brød, a pastry shop in Copenhagen, has launched a satirical version of the traditional Danish dessert "kvaje kage", otherwise known as "fool's cake". Unlike the classic frog shape, this time the cake bears the face of Donald Trump, a detail that has immediately attracted the attention of customers and the media.
The price of each dessert is about $3.30, and demand for it has exceeded the bakery's expectations.
The business's co-owner, Peter Kjer, said the idea was simply a humorous reaction to Trump's comments about Greenland:
"The Trump cake went further than we thought. The reaction has been very positive. Fortunately, the other side has also taken it with sportsmanship. The cake was created solely as a reaction to Trump's words about Greenland."
This initiative has been seen as an example of how satire and humor are used in Denmark to comment on political issues, without tension, but with creativity.
