
For the first time during this century, France will host the Olympic Games "Paris 2024", which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, while the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8.
Today, one day after the lighting of the Olympic flame, i.e. 99 days before the start of the Olympics, the French Embassy in Albania organized a press conference to highlight the main aspects of this great sporting event. The Games will be a celebration not only in France, but throughout the world. Together, the Olympic and Paralympic Games will bring together 15,000 athletes expected to compete in 32 different sports disciplines. It will be the biggest sporting event ever organized in France.
Over 4,500 medals will be awarded during this global sporting event, which will host 203 delegations as well as 120 heads of state. The opening ceremony will take place outdoors with a 6 kilometer parade along the River Seine, allowing everyone in Paris to see a unique and moving event that celebrates the magic of the Games. Through the Olympics, France also aims to leave a strong legacy, both tangible and intangible.
"Paris 2024" will involve major urban transformations, with a focus on sustainability and inclusiveness. These games will be the most eco-responsible ever organized in history, with the carbon footprint halved compared to previous editions and with a particular focus on environmental impact. The Paris Olympics will also be an opportunity to support social issues, promoting equality and inclusion. For the first time, the competitions will have full equality between men and women, while there will be accessibility facilities for all visitors.
Through the Olympic Games, it is also intended to promote the values of sport as a tool for integration, inclusion and well-being, especially among young people and in schools. In addition to the presentation of the event, the ambassador of the French Embassy in Albania, Mrs. Catherine Suard also expressed a special wish for the athletes of Albania, participating in "Paris 2024": " I wish a bright and successful edition of the Olympic Games, as well as good luck to all the athletes in the competition. I have a special congratulations for the sportsmen and women of Albania who are preparing for this unique competition. I wish success to the Albanian team and I hope they get their first Olympic medals ", declared Catherine Suard, among other things.
