Alonso, Klopp and Mareska, the three "BIG" names expected to shake up

Three well-known coaches in European football, Xabi Alonso, Jurgen Klopp and Enzo Mareska, are expected to be protagonists of the summer transfer market, as their names are linked with some of the biggest clubs on the continent. All three are currently free agents, which has increased speculation about sensational moves on the benches.

The situation at Real Madrid and the Klopp track

At Madrid, coach Arbeloa's position remains uncertain. Sources close to the club suggest that a trophyless season could lead to his dismissal. With the La Liga title considered all but lost and the Champions League chances reduced after the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, the club's board is considering alternatives.

In this context, the name of Jurgen Klopp has resurfaced in discussions within the club. The German, who is currently not active as a coach but remains engaged in other roles, is seen as a long-standing preference of president Florentino Perez.

Liverpool between Klopp's return and Alonso option

In parallel, Liverpool are also monitoring Klopp's situation, with media reports suggesting he could return to Anfield Road. This move is linked to the future of current manager Arne Slott, who is said to be set to leave.

Another name in Liverpool's orbit is Xabi Alonso. The former midfielder, currently without a team after leaving Real Madrid, had been an option to replace Klopp earlier. However, at the time, he had chosen to continue his project at Bayer Leverkusen.

Mareska and the future at Manchester City

Enzo Maresca is also on the list of coaches in question. The Italian coach left Chelsea after a successful spell, where he won the Conference League and the Club World Cup. He has long been considered one of the potential candidates to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

However, Guardiola remains under contract until 2027, which makes any potential move a medium-term matter rather than an immediate one.
