Although the big signings it has been making recently seemed to be part of a plan that would end with the organization of the 2030 World Cup, the latest information indicates that Saudi Arabia has decided to withdraw from this competition.
According to "Marca", the Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, has contacted Greece and Egypt, the other countries in their joint candidacy, to inform them that they are finally withdrawing from the organization of the 2030 World Cup.
The reason for the decision taken by Arabia is nothing more than the fact that it has come to the conclusion that it is impossible to defeat the candidacy made up of Spain, Portugal and Morocco because of the work it has done for a long time.
If confirmed, the withdrawal of Arabia would undoubtedly be good news for the aforementioned joint candidacy of Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The only rival would be a South American team consisting of Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay. The name of the winner will be announced in September 2024.
