Arsenal secured a clean 3-0 victory over Fulham in the London derby held at the Emirates Stadium, as part of the 35th week of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta's team started the match with a bang, taking the lead in the 9th minute. After a quick move and an assist from Bukayo Saka, it was Viktor Giokeres who sent the ball into the net.
In the 31st minute, Arsenal thought they had doubled their lead when Ricardo Calafiori headed home a cross from Leandro Troshard. However, the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
The advantage was doubled in the 40th minute, when Saka scored the second goal for the home team. The action was built by Gyokeres, while a deflection by the opposing defense caused the ball to end up in the net.
In first-half stoppage time, Giokeres scored Arsenal's third goal and his second, heading in a Troshard cross. It was the Swedish striker's 21st goal in all competitions in his first season in London.
The second half produced no changes in the score, with Arsenal managing the advantage until the end.
After this victory, Arsenal leads the standings with 76 points, creating a 6-point gap over Manchester City, who still has two games to play.
This victory is a message to the "citizens" that in the fight for the trophy, there are no compromises.
