A highly tense incident accompanied the end of the match between Inter and Atalanta over the weekend, where the captain of the Albanian national team, Berat Gjimshiti, was also at the center of the incident.
According to reports, the situation escalated immediately after the final whistle. Inter assistant coach Aleksandar Kolarov entered the pitch to demand an explanation from the referee regarding the decisions made during the match.
At this moment, Kolarov had physical contact with Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon, pushing him. The Atalanta player's immediate reaction brought the intervention of Gjimshit, who initially tried to calm the situation and separate the parties.
However, the situation did not subside. Verbal clashes began between Gjimshiti and Kolarov that threatened to turn into a physical conflict. The intervention of players and staff from both teams avoided further escalation on the field.
It is reported that the Albanian defender did not back down from the debate and, before leaving for the locker room, called on Kolarov for a direct confrontation off the field.
