The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has caused strong reactions after deciding that Morocco should be declared the winners of the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.
The match in question was accompanied by tension, as the Senegalese representative had left the field of play for a few minutes, only to return and win the match on the field. However, after a period of two months, CAF decided to change the result, giving Morocco a 3-0 victory on the table and punishing Senegal.
The Senegalese Football Federation reacted immediately, announcing that it would appeal the decision. Secretary General Abdoulaye Sow expressed strong opposition to the decision and questioned the integrity of African football's governing body.

Along the same lines, state authorities in Senegal have also requested the opening of an investigation, raising suspicions of corruption and possible influence in CAF's decision-making.
