Tomorrow's match between Albania against the Czech Republic and Sunday against Poland will be decisive for the fate of the Reds and Blacks in the qualifying group of "EURO 2024". Silvinho's team will practically face the two favorite candidates to cut the ticket to Germany next summer.
Albania has not yet played half of the matches of this qualifying campaign, but after starting with a loss in the Polish transfer, the victories with Moldova 2-0 and the Faroe Islands in the transfer 0-3, put the team in second place in Group E, with 6 points after three games, only -1 point from the leading Czech Republic and +3 from Levandovski and friends. It's a position anyone would have signed at the start of these qualifiers. But the real test will be the next two games. Albania will at least have the luxury of not being defeated by the two teams that threaten this position at the moment, and I see more peace in the future.
Variant I–A win in Prague tomorrow, a result Silvinho has promised he has traveled to the Czech Republic for, would catapult the Reds and Blacks to the top with 9 points, while Poland would likely join the Czechs in second place, looking at the challenge light on paper in Warsaw opposite the Faroe Islands. If the miracle happens at "Fortuna Arena", the red and blacks come to Tirana on Sunday with the euphoria of not interrupting the chapter of their mission here, while another maximum result against the Poles, it can be said that the history of qualifying for the finals of Europeans. An Albania with 12 points after 5 games and first in the group, puts the team in a very comfortable position, even for defending the result in the next three challenges: we await the Czech Republic on October 12 and by not losing we automatically qualify, regardless of the results of the rivals.
Variant II – But Albania is not desperate to seek victories in the next two challenges at all costs: an ideal situation would be a draw and a win in these next two games, which translate into 4 points and again a situation which could find ours most likely the first after this round of qualifiers.
Variant III –The third best possible combination of results is for Albania to just not lose in these two games: so get 2 points and not allow the Czech Republic to break away, or the Poles to get close or overcome, to attempt qualification later. In this case, the rivals would be there, with the same pace, but in this case we would be doomed not to lose to the Czech Republic in Tirana and attack to the maximum against Moldova and the Faroe Islands, two rivals that we have beaten so far, but that we should get at best 4 points, or at worst two. But these are just pencil and paper accounts and the field is another story. What matters at this moment is only the Czech Republic and getting the most out of a match that should be considered a final. Only by taking them one after the other will the German dream stay alive…
