The departure of Gareth Southgate from the management of England at the end of "EURO 2024" looks more and more like the most likely hypothesis for the British media and now the search has begun for what will be the name that will sit on the bench after the farewell the current technician.
"Daily Mail" informs that the English Federation has already started the work to examine the most important candidacies, to be ready after the end of the European Championship in Germany next summer. According to the sources of the British tabloid, the favorite name in the English football establishment is Pep Guardiola, an option which they are ready to consider, even seeing the fact that the Spanish technician has not extended the agreement he has with Manchester City.
Graham Potter and Eddie Howe are two other candidates who have been considered in the past, considering the style of play they practice is fun for the fans. The current Manchester City coach has a contract with the club until 2025, which would be a problem in itself, as the Federation does not intend to pay the release clauses, as well as the high figures that Guardiola usually demands.
