Tomash Suçek will experience a special night this Saturday at the "National Arena" in front of Albania. It will be match number 40 as the captain of the Czech Republic, equaling the legend Pavel Nedved, who held this record in the ranks of the team.
Sucek hopes that the match will be more like the one a month ago against the Reds and Blacks, won 2-0, rather than the one lost 3-0 a year ago in Tirana, for which he blames the fiery atmosphere in the stadium. as he explained several times during today's press conference.
Tomash, what did you learn from the last game in Albania, which the Czech Republic lost 3-0 a year ago?
"We know we played a bad game here, both in terms of the game and the result. But we also know that a month ago we had a good match with Albania, we will take an example from that mainly. Not from last year's game. We want to prepare mainly for the atmosphere as it was a year ago, so that we can prepare as well as possible for it."
What more needs to be taken from the game mode, so that last year's deep loss is not repeated?
"Ideally, we should take everything positive from the game we played a month ago. Perseverance, fight and team performance, working hard for each other. Then the individuals stood out, but also a good offensive game. I believe that thanks to this we will have another successful day".
Several players, including defenders, withdrew from the team. What complications do you think it will bring?
"We are sorry for any loss. But unfortunately this is part of football. Even injuries, or being out of shape. Now there are players who deserve it based on their performances. I believe that whoever enters the match will give a 100% performance. Regardless of whether it will be someone who has been here for a long time or someone new."
You mentioned that the atmosphere will be stormy again. How can you prepare for it? What should you be more careful about?
"We definitely want to be 100% prepared and focused. And that's since the heat. We have to focus on our preparation, on our performance, so that we don't let anything distract us from the moment we arrive at the stadium."
How do you feel when you lead the national team for the fortieth time as captain?
"When the number is said like that, I appreciate it a lot. It's a big number. I'm enjoying it. I still love playing for the national team and I'm very happy about that. I believe that I will lead the team for a few more matches as captain and I hope that the players and fans will be satisfied with the way I do this task".
