The renowned midfielder of the Albanian national team, Lindon Selahi, has started a new chapter in his career.
After ending his adventure with Croatian club Rijeka, the 26-year-old has chosen to move to the Polish football elite, signing a 3-year contract with Vidzew Lodz, a club with a rich history in Polish football and ambitions to restore its former glory. Selah has moved to Lodz as a free agent, after completing his contract with Rijeka, and despite interest from several other teams, he chose the project offered by the Polish club.
New challenge - His decision was also influenced by several personal and professional factors, including familiarity with the environment and the technical staff. After signing, Selahi did not hide his enthusiasm for the new challenge: “ I wanted a new challenge and I think I was attracted by this interesting project that the club offered me. I played with Juljan Shehu in the U-21 National Team and he said the best words to me about the club, the fans and the championship. This helped me make the decision easier .”
Coach - Another factor that has pushed Salah towards Lodz is coach Dragan Sopic, with whom he previously collaborated at Rijeka. " We did beautiful things together. He is a very good coach, but above all an extraordinary person. And that means a lot to me ," emphasized the midfielder. For Lindon Salah, Poland will be the next experience after Belgium and the Netherlands (where he played for Standard Liege and Twente), as well as Croatia. He brings with him international experience and a player profile with a competitive spirit and tactical discipline.
National Team - Selahi did not forget to talk about the Albanian National Team, where he was part of the training camps two years ago and intends to return again: " It is always a pleasure to play for your National Team! Every time I wear the red and black jersey, I feel proud and I give everything, because there is no better feeling than representing your country. I am proud to be Albanian !". At Vidzev Lodz, Selahi will join another National Team player, Juljan Shehu, who is already part of this club and can play an important role in his rapid integration. Immediately after signing, yesterday Selahi also held the first training session with his new team.
