Xabi Alonso's adventure at the top of the Real Madrid bench could end much sooner than expected. The recent 0-2 home defeat to Celta Vigo has significantly shaken the Basque coach's bench.
If Real Madrid lose to Manchester City in the Champions League tomorrow, then Alonso's dismissal seems inevitable. One of the main names that has been mentioned a lot to be the new coach of Real Madrid is Jurgen Klopp.
However, the German coach is said to have been clear with the Madrid club's leaders: he will only take the job if Real Madrid guarantees him a complete reorganization of the squad in the summer.
Klopp wants complete control over transfers. He doesn't want half-measures or interference. He wants full authority to sign players, renew contracts and, especially, decide on necessary departures. Some big names appear on that list.
Klopp considers it essential to "get rid" of players who, in his opinion, do not meet the levels of discipline, work rate and intensity that his system requires. This directly includes Vinicius Junior and Rodrigo, talented but inconsistent players, always according to what the Spanish media reports.
