"Thank you for the emotions", Klopp's letter to Liverpool fans: I

The German coach, Jurgen Klop, has written a letter to Liverpool fans, as he will leave at the end of the season.

" Before I came to Liverpool, I had never written a letter to a newspaper in my life. I am now writing the second letter to the "Liverpool ECHO"...

This means that I am probably of a considerable age now and that this is a newspaper that plays an important role in this city. For me it's a great way to talk to as many people as possible who live here.

The time has come for me to say goodbye. I know it's not news anymore, but it's important to tell you. For me, Liverpool is a city of people with open arms. A country that welcomes you as its own son and doesn't care where you come from. He just wants you to be a part of him and I couldn't be more proud that he allowed me to have this incredible privilege. A city that offers this kind of welcome deserves at least a proper farewell.

There is so much I can say right now and there are so many special moments I can talk about. On and off the field we created memories between us that will live with me forever. But when I think about this city and its wonderful people, the biggest lesson I'll take with me is that giving up is definitely not in the vocabulary. If you're from here, chances are you're not only ready to fight, but actually want to do it. Even when the odds are against you, it is always possible to win.

I loved it more than I could ever say. Sharing moments of success with people can only be special no matter what club you're at, but the way Liverpool do it takes it to a whole new level. This has been the case even after big disappointments, like in 2022. Beyond that, I liked the fact that this is a football city. No matter where you go in Liverpool and no matter who you talk to, people want to talk about football. Every single word contains a passion and love for the game.

Of course, I'm on the red side and always will be, but I know from experience that the same is absolutely true for the blue team. Tomorrow will be the last time I manage Liverpool FC and it will be an occasion where we will once again try to make our fans proud, but it will also be an opportunity to remember the moments we spent together. I will remember everything fondly and be grateful for the time I spent here. Liverpool is a city we've lived and worked in, but it's also a place we've fallen in love with. Now all I can do is wish you all the best for the future. Liverpool deserve it. You deserve it!

Thank you. Thank you for everything ".
