The scandal of payments of millions of euros by Barcelona to the vice-president of the Committee of Referees, Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, marks another stage that adds more to the doubts about the way this event has been handled for years by the Spanish football authorities.
The Spanish police in September made a full check in the offices of the Federation and in the documentation read by the journalists of "El Confidencal" in Spain, it is written that invoices belonging to Negreira's and his son's companies were also found, which were hidden in the basement of the building.
The documentation for the payments made by Barcelona in the years 2008-2010, belongs to the period when the president of the Catalans was Joan Laporta and corresponds to the amount of 1,031,839 euros.
According to the investigators of this case, Negreira and his son had used two companies to hide the payments, but it is not known why they ended up in the offices of the Spanish Federation and, furthermore, why they were hidden from the latter. When the scandal broke and became public, the Spanish Federation officially denied having information about the matter, but the discovery of these documents shows that they were already fully aware.
