
Sad news has shocked the Albanian sports community this Tuesday: former Lushnja and Egnatia footballer, Xhejms Ajinde, has passed away at the age of 24, after a serious illness.
According to information made public, the Nigerian striker was suffering from a form of kidney cancer. Despite his efforts, he was unable to win the battle with the disease, passing away at a young age.
Ajinde has been part of several teams in Albania, where his contribution with the jerseys of Lushnja and Egnatia stands out.
One of the most important achievements in his career was winning the championship title in the Superior Category with the Egnatia team.
The Lushnja club reacted publicly through an announcement on social media, expressing its pain over the loss of the former player:
" It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the untimely passing of our former player, James Ayinde.
James proudly wore the KF Lushnja jersey... He will be remembered for his dedication, passion and fighting spirit...
"KF Lushnja expresses its most sincere condolences to the family and friends ."
The club described Ajinden not only as a footballer, but also as a good person and part of the Lushnjare sports family.
