Florentino Perez has been re-elected president of Real Madrid until 2029. The candidacy of the Madrid businessman was the only one presented to the board in the electoral process opened on January 7 and the "Galacticos" have formalized this evening the agreement reached by the Board for the re-election of the current president.
This will be the seventh term for Perez, who has only had to fight for office twice. In the 2000 and 2004 elections, defeating Lorenzo Sanz, his predecessor in office, on both occasions.
In the other five electoral processes, the process did not even have to be held due to the lack of alternative candidates. This happened in 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025.
At 77, Florentino will become the oldest president in the history of the Madrid club. During his two-year term, the club has won 65 titles, 37 in football and 28 in basketball, including six Champions Leagues and three Euroleagues.
