Real Madrid suffered their first defeat after seven consecutive wins in La Liga, losing 2-1 to Osasuna in Pamplona. This is the fourth defeat for the Madrid team this season.
The match, valid for the 25th week of the Spanish championship, started better for Osasuna, who dominated the game and created the most dangerous chances during the first half. In the 28th minute, Ante Budimir hit the post, warning the home team's lead.
In the 37th minute, after a challenge by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on Budimir, the referee, after consulting the VAR system, awarded a penalty to Osasuna. From the penalty spot, the 34-year-old Croatian striker was accurate, giving the home team a 1-0 lead. With this result, the first half ended.
Real Madrid managed to equalize in the 73rd minute. Federico Valverde broke through from the wing and assisted Vinicius Junior, who sent the ball into the net, temporarily restoring balance to the score.
However, the home team responded again. After a loose ball from substitute Dani Sebajos, Raul Moro assisted Raul Garcia, who evaded the Madrid defense and scored Osasuna's second goal, sealing a 2-1 victory.
With this victory, Osasuna climbs to ninth place with 33 points. Real Madrid temporarily remains at the top of the standings with 60 points, but its position is at risk, as Barcelona can regain first place if they win their next match at the Camp Nou against Levante.
