Racist chants against the Albanian team, Macedonian team fans clash with police (Video)

A serious incident was recorded in the North Macedonian championship, during the match between Vardar and Başkimi, which ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of the home team.

According to reports, in the final minutes of the match, the referee decided to temporarily stop the match due to racist chants, allegedly directed at Albanians by some of the Vardar fans. The stoppage came as a reaction to the situation created in the stands.

The situation did not calm down even after the final whistle. It is reported that there was a clash between police forces and the technical staff of the Union team. There is no official announcement yet on the causes of the clash or if there are any injured people.

To date, the relevant institutions and the Football Federation of North Macedonia have not announced whether there will be disciplinary measures regarding the incident.

After this victory, Vardar leads the championship standings with 9 points more than the pursuers Struga and Shkëndija.
