Premier League club Luton Town have released a press statement updating the condition of their captain, Tom Lockier, who collapsed due to a cardiac arrest during yesterday's match against Bournemouth and was immediately taken to hospital:
“While our captain Tom Lokier remains in hospital following a cardiac arrest on the pitch at Bournemouth we understand that fans are concerned for him and that there is widespread media interest in his condition.
Tom is still undergoing tests and scans and is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined.
We are unable to comment further on his situation and would ask all media to wait for any updates to be released through the club's official channels when the time is right.
We all wish the best for Tom, his partner Taylor and the entire Lokier family and kindly ask that his and their privacy be respected at this difficult time".
