The Albanian national team started the new era under coach Maran with a loss, after being defeated 0-1 by Israel in a friendly match held at the "Air Albania" stadium.
After the match, defender Elseid Hysaj commented on the team's performance and the changes the team is going through with the new technical staff.
" Every time I wear the Albania jersey, my goal is to give my best as long as I have strength. We have a new coach with new ideas and it will take time to assimilate them. Over time, the things that are changing will also be settled. He is a very positive coach ," Hysaj declared.
According to the red and black defender, the team is trying to adopt a more offensive style compared to the past.
" This way of playing is more attacking than what we have developed before. We have to continue working to reach a higher level ," he added.
Hysaj also commented on the tense moment during the match, apologizing for his reaction.
" Football has these situations. I don't like to create controversy, but when I saw the player asking the fans to stay calm, I reacted in a moment of nervousness. I apologize and fortunately nothing serious happened ," he said.
Finally, the footballer also spoke briefly about his future at the club level, confirming that he is currently without a contract.
" I am out of contract. I have spoken with my manager and we are working to find the right solution. At the moment I have nothing concrete ," concluded Hysaj.
