Italian sports journalist Paolo Paganini has harshly criticized Juventus' management for the way the summer transfer window was managed. Invited to the "Maracana" show on TMW Radio, he pointed out some of the transfers that, according to him, have not yielded the expected results.
According to Paganini, Juventus are paying the consequences of the wrong choices in the transfer market. He mentioned the situation of McKenzie, stressing that without the intervention of Spalletti, who according to him "invented" the player, it would have been another problem, especially at a time when his contract is about to expire.
Commenting on the case of Randal Kolo Muani, the journalist used a symbolic comparison: " In the summer transfer window, Kolo Muani looked like Tom Hanks in 'The Terminal'. He wanted to go to Juve, got stuck there and then didn't transfer ," said Paganini.
He also mentioned the high costs that, according to him, weigh on the Turin club, such as David's salary and commissions, as well as the transfers of Openda and Edon Zhegrova. " They should have taken someone who wanted to come and already knew the environment, instead of those three ," he declared.
Among the names that Paganini considered a wrong choice was Albanian striker Edon Zhegrova. We recall that Juventus transferred Zhegrova from Lille last September, initially paying 15.5 million euros. With the add-ons and bonuses provided for in the contract, the total transfer amount could reach 23 million euros.
The journalist's statements come at a time when Juventus is facing high expectations from fans and pressure for results, while discussions about the club's strategy in the transfer market remain open.
