
The athlete Luiza Gega has become the first Albanian athlete who has received the right to be part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Albanian record holder has won the 3 thousand meters steeplechase race in Serbia, setting a time of 9 minutes, 21 seconds and 53 hundredths, being within the limit for qualification.
This morning, in Krljevo, Serbia, Gega won the race with a better time than the opponents, as apart from the gold medal in the Balkans, he received the right to be part of "Paris 2024".
The norm to be part of the Olympic Games was a time below 9.23.00, with Gega managing to secure another success.
We recall that a few weeks ago, Luiza Gega excelled at the European Team Games that took place in Poland. The Albanian athlete left all the contestants behind her in the 3,000 meters obstacle race, as she set a new European record with a time of 9 minutes 17 seconds and 31 hundredths.
