Former Brazilian striker Ronaldinho seems to have no memory of the months he spent in prison in Paraguay two years ago. The world soccer icon is in trouble with justice in his native Brazil, where he is accused of fraud.
He was charged after the investigation into the company "18kRonaldinho", which promised investors 2% profits if they deposited a minimum of $30 in cryptocurrencies. He has been asked several times to appear before a committee of the Brazilian Parliament.
But his non-appearance has pushed today Aureo Ribeiro, the president of this commission, to call him again tomorrow, warning that in the opposite case he will officially ask the police to bring him by force to testify.
Ronaldinho actually turns out to be only an "ambassador" of the company in question, which was originally created with the aim of selling watches and jewelry, although the investigator insists that he was involved in fraud. The ex-footballer's lawyers, meanwhile, claim that his name and image were used without permission and they also demand compensation from the company in question.
