Max Verstappen wins Japanese Grand Prix

Max Verstappen wins the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. The four-time world champion, who started from pole position, celebrated his first win of the season, the 64th of his career, and moves into second in the overall standings, just 1 point behind Lando Norris (McLaren).

For SuperMax it is the fourth consecutive triumph on the Japanese track.

The McLarens, who are considered favorites, had to settle for second place for Lando Norris and third place on the podium for Oscar Piastri.

For the Dutchman, the only thrill came on lap 22, when, after returning to the track after the pit stop, Norris tried to overtake him on the right, also risking a penalty.

Charles Leclerc easily managed to finish in fourth place, ahead of the Mercedes of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line of the Japanese Grand Prix in seventh position, recovering one position from his eighth qualifying time, but not finding any major advantage from choosing to start the race on the hard tyres.

Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), eighth, Alexander Albon (Williams), ninth and Oliver Bearman (Haas), tenth, complete the list of drivers with points.

The next race is scheduled for next week. The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, April 13, at 5:00 p.m.
