Attended event organized by far-right Polish leader, UEFA makes decision on Champions League final referee

The Marciniak case has come to an end and the investigation launched by UEFA into an involvement in a political campaign of an anti-Semitic and homophobic nature against the Polish referee Simon Marciniak has been closed.

The 42-year-old will be the referee of the final and UEFA itself has confirmed something like that. Through an official communiqué, the highest football body in Europe states that it has received a letter from the Polish referee, who clarified the truth and apologized.

Something like that has been accepted by UEFA which has not made any decision about it. UEFA has added that it also consulted with NGO organizations and then decided not to punish the referee, as it would send a wrong message in the fight against racism.
