Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed to become the new coach of Saudi Arabia's Al-Shabab. The "Special One" was sacked by Roma earlier this week after a disappointing run in Serie A.
Ausat claims Mourinho had a meeting with sporting director Dominic Tite before verbally agreeing to become their new manager.
Mourinho is said to be flying to Riyadh in the coming days to finalize the terms of his new deal.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager apparently impressed Tite with his knowledge of the Saudi sports project. Al-Shabab have not won the title for 12 years, while their last trophy came a decade ago in the Saudi King's Cup.
And Mourinho is said to have vowed to return them to the top by filling the squad with top international players in a super-spending market.
Last year he admitted that he would go to the Middle East.
Mourinho said: "I will go to Saudi Arabia one day, I am convinced that I will work there. I don't know when, but I'm pretty sure about it. No one knows my future, but I will definitely do this."
Al-Shabab is ranked 11th in the Saudi league with 21 points accumulated in 19 weeks.
On January 24, this team has scheduled a friendly match against Roma, the former team of "Special One".
