Vedat Muriqi has become the protagonist of one of the rarest events in the VAR era, after his gesture that brought the Kosovar striker a red card, in the end secured the victory for the Majorca team with a score of 3-2 in the transfer to Las Palmas.
Muriqi had experienced a negative night, as he had also caused a penalty with a touch of the ball with his hand and was trying in every way to atone for the mistake. But in the last minute of the duel, at 2-2, after an action where no one protested for anything, the referee signaled that he would see the images on the VAR monitor.
In that action, Mata of Las Palmas had celebrated in the face of Muriqi that he had not scored and the latter responded by showing him the middle finger. The referee saw the footage and returned to the field giving the yellow card to Mata and the red to Muriq, as it is considered serious unsportsmanlike conduct.
