The German World Cup squad list has apparently been leaked to the media a day before coach Julian Nagelsmann's official announcement. According to reports, the German coach has decided to bring veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer back to the national team.
The 40-year-old had announced his retirement from international football after EURO 2024, but is now expected to return to the role of Germany's first-choice goalkeeper. Oliver Bauman will remain the second-choice, while Aleksander Nybel is expected to be the third-choice goalkeeper in the squad. Media reports also suggest that Jonas Urbig will travel with the team, but will not be included in the final squad.
Another name that has attracted attention is that of Cologne striker Said El Mala. The young talent has had an impressive season in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in his first season. The list is expected to include young players such as Lenart Karl and several other promising talents.
The team's most famous names include Kai Havertz, Florian Urich, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Antonio Rüdiger, Jonathan Tah and Niko Schloterbeck. On the other hand, Milan striker Niklas Fylkrug is not expected to be part of the national team for this tournament.
