Rolando Maran has been officially introduced as the new coach of the Albanian National Team. The Italian coach appeared before the media yesterday in his first press conference, where he spoke about his objectives and his new adventure on the red and black bench, an experience that also marks his debut in national team football.
Unlike his predecessor, Silvinho, who preferred the 4-3-3 formation, Maran is expected to bring significant changes to the team's tactical organization. The 62-year-old coach is known for using the 4-3-1-2 formation, a scheme that favors central play and activates the attacking midfielder more.
This formation could create more space for players like Ernest Muçi and Nedim Bajrami, who can be activated in their natural role behind the strikers. In Maran's scheme, the attack consists of two center forwards and a playmaker behind them, while the midfield is supported by three center players.
The tactical change is also expected to affect the offensive units, as there is no room for classic wingers in this module. During Silvinho's time, this role was often covered by improvised players, while now the National Team can orient itself towards a more compact game focused on actions from the center of the field.
