The head of the Skënderbeg club, Ilirjan Përmeti, has appeared in a press conference where he focused on the violent incident yesterday in Fushë-Krujë and as a result the match between Ilirija and Skënderbeg was suspended. He says that his team was faced with violence inside the stadium and that in these conditions it was impossible to continue the match.
" I am not here to respond to the Iliria club, but to sensitize the sports public and every fan of the city of Korça. We do not want to harm any club, we have shown this with facts and we have tried to be tolerant. We do not abuse anyone ."
According to him, the incident occurred in the locker room, where Illyria players and officials exercised physical violence against Skënderbeg players.
" The whole staff was there. The team entered the locker room and there was a physical altercation. This is verifiable as 4-5 of our players had marks on their bodies. If the cameras were functional, everything is easily verified ."
Përmet added that, due to panic and pressure from family members, the match could not continue.
" Their claim was that there was provocation from the coach, but the truth is that our players had signs. In those conditions, with the tension and fear that had been created, the development of the match was impossible ," he concluded.
The State Police has announced that 3 players of the Iliria Club have been criminally prosecuted while at large after the violence inflicted on Skënderbeu's Egyptian footballer, Nasr.
