A derby for statistics, not for fans; Tirana–Partizani facing identity

It's no ordinary derby, nor is it a championship-dividing challenge. Tirana and Partizan clash this Sunday in one of the darkest moments in their recent history; not because of rivalry, but because both are deeply disappointing.

Tirana comes devastated by a 6-2 defeat against Dinamo and with only one victory in the championship, against Partizan in the first match. On the other hand, Besnik Prenga's "Red Bulls", despite winning 1-0 in the last match, are failing to convince on the field with either play or organization.

The statistics are brutal for both teams. Partizan is the second worst team in the entire Super League for ball possession, with only 44.6%, ranking immediately after Bylis. Even worse is the percentage of correct passes, where with 76.3% Partizan is last in the championship. On the other hand, Tirana is the team that allows the most shots on goal, around 12.5 per match, a figure that shows a completely ruined defense. As for the efficiency in attack, Partizan is last with 21.8% shots on goal, while Tirana maintains a more acceptable average, with 37.6%.

This match is no longer a symbol of the title race, but a reflection of the degradation of two icons of Albanian football. A duel that will be played under the shadow of a technical, managerial and perhaps even institutional crisis.

In this electrified atmosphere, with the "Air Albania" stadium filled but not with optimism, it remains to be seen whether this challenge will serve as a turning point for one side, or whether it will sink both teams deeper into a season that is heading towards oblivion.
