Taulant Xhaka returns to speak to the media in Switzerland regarding the headbutt he made to the opponent on May 7, in the match against Zurich. In the 12th minute of extra time, the Basel midfielder lost his nerve and headbutted Nikola Katic, receiving an eight-game suspension.
" I lost control and this is something that should not happen to me. It was an act that has no place in football fields, my son watched the match together with my wife. I didn't like it at all when he asked me at home if it was foul, or when he tried to imitate me. It was something that didn't make me feel good," the midfielder initially said.
Then Xhaka also spoke about the moment he "poured the cup", saying that the opponent insulted him from the family.
"The opponent provoked me throughout the match, at first I managed to keep my nerves. But, after I was punished with a yellow and then a red card, he put the shirt in front of his mouth and cursed me from the family. He insulted my wife, children, family. I couldn't hold my nerve anymore ", said Xhaka to the media in Switzerland.
Xhaka is expected to return to the Albanian National Team, with Silvinho looking for a player with his qualities in the team.
