The draw for the first round of the European Champions League for girls was made today at the UEFA headquarters, in Nyon, Switzerland, where Vllaznia, the champion team of Albania for this football edition, also participates. Shkodranet recognized the group and the names of the opponents they will face in this first round, where they aim again for the historic qualification in the group stage of the 'UEFA Women's Champions League'.
Vllaznia will be part of group 7, which has four teams. The matches of this phase will be played in the form of a mini-tournament and Shkodran will face the champion team of Kosovo, Hajvalin, in the semi-finals. So, the next match of the group has reserved the confrontation between the champions of Iceland and Turkey, Valur - Ankara Bujuksehir Beledijesi Fomget SK. UEFA has decided that all three matches will take place in Albania. Thus, Vllaznia has a golden opportunity to advance to the second round, since it plays the semi-final and possible final at home.
The two winners from these two semi-final meetings will then face each other in the final and only one of them will advance to the second round.
The Shkodran team was part of the favorite teams' pot, ranking in seventh place, with a coefficient of 16,800 and leaving behind well-known teams in Europe, such as the Hungarian champions of Ferencvarosh, the Belgians of Anderleht, the Ukrainians of Vorskla and so on.
In the first round of this competition, 41 teams participate, divided into 11 groups, where 8 of them are with four teams, while 3 of them are with three teams. The semi-finals of the groups are scheduled to be played on September 6, while the finals, from which the winners who qualify for the second round will emerge, will be played on September 9.
The red and blue girls once again aim for the historic qualification in the group stage of the Champions League, just like the last edition, when they also wrote the history of Albanian football.
