But will Manuel Neuer, the 39-year-old goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, be active in the decisive match?
Neuer has been battling for a return to action for five weeks. He suffered an injury in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Leverkusen on March 5, when he tore a muscle in his right calf while celebrating the Bavarian giants' second goal.
Two weeks later, during rehabilitation, the injury reactivated.
As a result, Neuer missed the first leg of the quarter-final against Inter (1:2 a week ago) and he also missed the match against BVB last weekend, but there was still hope for the return leg in Milan (Wednesday, 9:00 p.m.).
Until the end, there was still a small hope that Neuer could play in Milan. Coach Vincent Kompany and sporting director Max Eberl did not want to announce the final decision.
But, according to information from BILD, a decision has been made: Neuer will definitely not play in Milan!
Neuer did not do any individual training on the pitch on Sunday. So far during his rehabilitation, he has not been able to do any exercises that involve flying or stretching his injured leg.
Neuer has tried many times in his career to adapt at the last minute - but this time it won't work.
This means that Jonas Urbig, the 21-year-old who joined the Bavarians in January, will be back in goal in Milan, making his 9th appearance as Neuer's replacement.
In the two matches against Leverkusen in the Champions League, Urbig showed that he maintains his composure at all times.
