Coach Thomas Tuchel said Bayern Munich's players will have to feel under pressure if they are to produce a top performance and overturn a 1-0 deficit in Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg against Lazio.
The Bavarians are far from their best, having managed just one win in their last five games in all competitions, with Tuchel set to leave at the end of the season, a year ahead of his contract.
They were recently held to a 2-2 draw at Freiburg on Friday to fall 10 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
" I think the situation for us is very clear, but for a top performance there has to be a certain pressure. Our recent results, including the defeat in the first leg in Italy, mean that this will not be super easy tomorrow. The pressure is necessary. It will be there tomorrow. We have to win with two goals against an Italian team, a Maurizio Sarri team. The bar is high ," said Tuchel.
The Bavarians, who have won the last 11 domestic league titles and won their most recent Champions League trophy in 2020, are in danger of finishing without a title this season.
Failure to progress to the Champions League on Tuesday could also mean an even earlier exit for Tuchel.
" I know what we have agreed and what we have communicated, but you can be sure that nobody has more ambition than me to win the game tomorrow. Tomorrow every minute will count. Patience yes, if it comes to not getting frustrated if things take a while. Patience does not, if it is only about creating possession. We have no time to waste. Time is on Lazio's side, so we have to play, but still have emotions and with emotions, open the gas and play for goals ," he said.
