A drunk girl was gang-raped, the prosecution seeks 10 years in prison for the Olympic weightlifting champion

The Trapani prosecutor's office has requested ten years in prison for Olympic weightlifting champion Antonino Pizolato, bronze medalist in Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2021. He has been charged with aggravated gang rape along with three other people.

According to the media outlets "La Sicilia" and "Giornale di Sicilia", the prosecution has also requested the same sentence for Davide Lupo, Claudio Tutino and Stefano Mongiovì. The case is related to an alleged incident in July 2022 in Trapani, where the victim claims to be a Finnish tourist.

Prosecutors Andrea Tarondo and Xhulia Sbokia stated that the young woman was intoxicated and that the sexual intercourse took place without her consent. The trial has been postponed to January, where the defense is expected to present its arguments.
