ISIS is back to threaten Spanish football. According to "The Mirror", the "Guardia Civil" information services, in close cooperation with the American FBI, have in recent weeks destroyed a network that aimed to attack the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium.
This ISIS cell invited its militants to shoot Real Madrid players and fans. Nine people were arrested in the operation in Salt (Girona), Algeciras (Cadiz), Anta (Almeria) and Tenerife.
In a poster published online, a hooded man can be seen shooting and his sniper target was aimed at the Real Madrid bus. "My dear brother. Wait at a location near the players arrival point. Mark them and their followers", is the ominous message on the poster.
In close cooperation with the US FBI, the operation by Spanish authorities aimed to target the self-proclaimed I'lam Foundation, one of the main centers of propaganda linked to the Islamic State, with radio stations, news agencies, video production companies, profiles in social networks, which spread radical content in a multitude of languages, including Spanish.
ISIS is no stranger to this type of threat and already caused panic last April, threatening to attack the stadiums where the Champions League quarter-finals were being played.
