Roko Vata is one of those names that has sparked the most discussion in recent times. The son of Rudi Vata has played for all age groups of Ireland and has the opportunity to play for several national teams, including Albania.
A few days ago, a fake news story circulated that Roko Vata was part of the Ireland squad for the March matches. This does not mean that his name will not appear on that list, but at the moment there is nothing official.
It could be called fake news because a photo taken by Ireland fans showing Roko Vata in an Ireland shirt, as a new addition to the A-team, has been circulating in Albanian sports media, reporting it as coming from the Irish Football Association. This was not true and the question of which national team the Watford player will choose is still pending.
On the show "Max Sport" broadcast on "Euro News", moderator Altin Sulçe gave an exclusive news about this issue. According to him, Ireland A has sent an official invitation to Roko Vata for the March matches, but the latter has not yet accepted the invitation.
The 19-year-old has still left this invitation pending, neither accepting nor rejecting it. Albania has also sent an invitation to Roko Vata with Alban Bush's Shpresat, U-21, but Roko has rejected it.
Roko Vata clearly considers Albania U-21 as a suit that does not fit him, as he previously played with Ireland U-21 and now sees himself as a step above. However, it is not guaranteed that the Albania A invitation will bring Roko Vata as a red and black, as the final decision belongs to him and the player himself still has doubts.
But as long as he is in this conundrum, the door remains open for Albania. His behavior has brought a lot of discussion as some congratulate him for not yet accepting the National Team and others do not accept his behavior to reject Albania U-21, seeing it as an "insult". Albania is a pride to be represented in all age groups and this path has been followed by Armando Broja, Kristjan Asllani, Marash Kumbulla and many other stars.
Moreover, Anis Mehmeti, who has scored 12 goals this season in the Championship, has not been invited to Albania, in the same championship where Roko Vata plays, who has scored 3 goals. The advantage of the latter is undoubtedly his young age, only 19 years old, but it seems clear that the Watford player considers the invitation of Our Hopes as an insult to him. Is Roko Vata right?
